About Fillings
Simply put, when you have a dental problem that is beyond the scope of general dentistry, you will need dental implants and oral surgery.
Repairing tooth decay:Removal of damaged or infected tooth tissue and filling with material to restore the appearance and function of the tooth.
Prevent deterioration:Fillings prevent bacteria from continuing to invade the inside of your teeth and prevent tooth decay from worsening.
Maintain aesthetic appeal:By using materials similar to real teeth (e.g. resin, ceramics), the defects are filled and the natural appearance of the teeth is maintained.
Enhanced functionality:Restored teeth restore normal chewing function, allowing you to enjoy a variety of foods.
Our Treatments
Fillings Overview
Tooth Decay Treatment
Ideal for "decayed" or "slightly damaged" teeth, the goal is to restore the appearance of the teeth and prevent the problem from worsening.
- Silver powder with resin filler:For small areas of decay, the material can be used to fill in the damaged portion of the tooth, restoring the appearance and function of the tooth.
- Ceramic inlay:For posterior teeth with extensive decay, customised ceramic inlays can be produced, combining aesthetics, durability and a high level of fit.
Dental polishing and aesthetics
Ideal for addressing "rough tooth surfaces" or "pigmentation" with the goal of restoring the natural lustre of the teeth.
- Dental polishing:After the filling, the dentist will polish the surface of the tooth to make it smooth and less prone to plaque.
- Aesthetic restoration:By using materials similar to those of real teeth, we can repair defects and maintain the natural appearance of teeth.
Occlusal adjustment and protection
Ideal for "post-filling malocclusion" or "need for tooth protection", the goal is to ensure a normal bite and prolong the life of the filling.
- Bite Adjustment:Your dentist will ask you to gently bite down to make sure that the height of your teeth is comfortable and to fine-tune the adjustment.
- Bite plate with protection:If needed, tools such as bite plates will also be recommended to protect teeth from damage caused by nighttime grinding.
Detailed Filling Procedure
What is the procedure for filling treatment?
01
Initial Diagnosis and Assessment
This is the starting point and the most crucial step in any treatment.
- Comprehensive Oral Examination:Your dentist will look at your oral condition, periodontal health and medical history through an intra- and extra-oral examination.
- X-rays are taken:If your dentist suspects that the decay has spread to the pulp, he or she will recommend x-rays to confirm the depth and location of the decay.
- Develop a customised treatment plan:Based on all the data from the examination, the dentist will discuss with you and explain in detail the treatment plan, costs and expected results.
02
Removal of cavities and fillings
This stage mainly paves the way for treatment.
- Anaesthesia and cavity removal:Before the treatment, your dentist will administer local anaesthesia to ensure that the procedure is painless. Professional instruments will then be used to remove the damaged decayed tissue.
- Dental preparation:After removing the decay, the dentist will shape the tooth to create a solid base for the subsequent filling material and ensure a tight fit.
- Fill in the blanks:Depending on the location and size of your decay, your dentist will select the most suitable filling material (e.g. resin, silver powder, etc.) and fill it into the damaged tooth.
03
Polishing and Aftercare
Good recovery and regular follow up after surgery.
- Bite adjustment and polishing:Once the filling is complete, the dentist will ask you to gently bite down on it to make sure it is at a comfortable height. Next, the surface of the filling will be polished to ensure that it is smooth and free from stains.
- Post-operative care guidance:Dentists will provide detailed guidelines on oral care, including how to clean teeth, dietary precautions, etc.
- Regular return visits:Your dentist will arrange regular visits to check the stability of the fillings and confirm your oral health.
