Root Canal Therapy

Simply put, when you have a dental problem that is beyond the scope of general dentistry, you will need dental implants and oral surgery.

Pulpitis and nerve infection:When a cavity has penetrated deep into the tooth, causing inflammation or infection of the nerves and resulting in severe pain, it is necessary to remove the root of the tooth to completely remove the lesion.
Broken teeth and trauma:When the pulp of a tooth is exposed due to an accidental fracture or impact, a bacterial infection may result, and a root canal can prevent the infection from spreading.

Our Treatments

Root Canal Treatment Overview

Pulpitis and pulp necrosis

It is suitable for the treatment of "deep cavities" or "internal nerve infections", with the goal of completely removing the lesions and preserving the damaged teeth.

  • Treatment:The dentist will use X-rays to confirm the degree of inflammation of the nerves inside the tooth and remove any infected or dead pulp tissue under local anaesthesia.

Fractured teeth and trauma

It is suitable for the treatment of pulpal exposure and infection caused by "accidental fracture" or "impact" with the goal of avoiding bacterial spread.

  • Treatment:In the case of a fractured tooth caused by trauma, the dentist will remove the exposed nerve and thoroughly disinfect the inside of the root canal to prevent bacteria from invading through the fracture.

What is the process of Dupont Root Treatment?

01

Initial Diagnosis and Assessment

This is the starting point and the most crucial step in any treatment.

  1. Comprehensive Oral Examination:Your dentist will look at your oral condition, periodontal health and medical history through an intra- and extra-oral examination.
  2. 3D digital diagnosis:Get a three-dimensional view of your mouth, bones, nerves and blood vessels with a 3D computed tomography (CT) scanner or 3D intraoral scanner.
  3. Develop a customised treatment plan:Based on all the data from the examination, the dentist will discuss with you and explain in detail the treatment plan, costs and expected results.
  4. Biopsies of living tissue:If any unexplained lumps or lesions are found in the mouth during the examination, the dentist will perform biopsy at this stage to obtain a diagnosis for subsequent treatment.

02

Removal and Disinfection

This is the core step of the treatment, which aims to remove the lesion completely and prevent the infection from spreading.

  1. Remove inflamed nerves and tissues:If you need dental implants but have lost bone in the alveolar region of the upper jaw due to chronic tooth loss, your dentist will first perform a sinus lift. This procedure increases the bone to provide adequate space and support before the implant is placed.
  2. Root canal enlargement and disinfection:A small hole is drilled into the surface of the tooth to access the pulp chamber inside the tooth to completely remove all infected, inflamed or necrotic pulp tissue.
  3. Root canal sealing:The root canals are enlarged and shaped internally and thoroughly sterilised to prevent bacteria from remaining.

03

Reconstruction and follow-up

Good recovery and regular follow up after surgery.

  1. Crown making:As the treated teeth become weak, they need to be protected with crowns (dentures) to restore their strength and chewing function.
  2. Post-operative care guidance:Dentists and nurses will provide detailed verbal and written instructions on how to clean the wound, dietary precautions, etc.
  3. Regular return visits:Your dentist will arrange regular visits to check the wound healing and the progress of the implant-bone integration.
